Stirring Up Trouble

Throughout my life I haven't been the best April Fool's prankster. I'm the one who believed Snoop Dogg got baptized a became a member of the LDS church last year. I am working on changing that. When I think of April Fool's, I think of my Grandma Harris. She LOVES to pull pranks on the special day. I have some other family members...perhaps my father...who also like to pull sneaky pranks. I need to be a part of this!

For years Justin has been involved heavily in the wakeboard industry. He has gone from producing wakeboard videos for major companies to now creating his very own wakeboard brand. You can read more about it on the website, I'm sure it'll be more clear than me trying to explain it...it's ingenious!

You see the thing is Justin is a modest individual. He just loves what he does and does it well...doesn't let the attention get to him...at least doesn't act like it ;) He works with all walks of life and they respect and admire him. He has splendid qualities that have assisted him in his success. I'm just proud of him is all. Yay!

Bizzeee

Since Friday the 13th things have been a little crazy. I think it was the 17th I moved to Utah. I'm living in a great house with 3 great gals! So for a few months I will be here...then...there are a few other options but I mainly just wanted to mix things up and have some fun up here. So far..success! I've been able to see friends and cousins and my sweet grandmother. We are actaully in the process of working on a 2000 piece puzzle. It's so difficult but so rewarding...even when just a few pieces are found! We also play games together and watch Wheel of Fortune and eat meals together. I love it. Not to mention meeting new people is always fun. Then I'm still doing hair every other weekend in Vegas. It's been working out so far. I'm trying to find a job here for the week days..and also getting my cosmetology license here to work at a salon. It's been a pretty smooth transition.

There WAS a little bump in the road. I parked my car in the slc airport parking garage last Wednesday when I flew home. I came back to Utah today and I go to pay for 3 and a half days of parking. Guess how much??? Nope you didn't guess it right because it was $112.00. Yeah. I was fuming!! Lesson learned - park in ecomony parking outside- garage is not worth it.

It's only money...

Anyway, life is good. My sister in law put up a few pictures of our family vacation in Missouri and these are a few I love. There are more of the whole family but these are just me and my wonderful brothers!

Funky and Peculiar

If you haven't noticed, this week held a few full moons. I am convinced that kooky things happen when it's a full moon. Here's a photo to get the feel of my uncanny week...

Without getting into much detail...this week has been odd. For instance: I had a few unexpected run ins with people. Normally I crash under pressure and give in when I am in a silly/awkward sitation....not this week...I've been feeling very courageous and been able to stand up for myself more than usual.

And don't forget that TM and I drove to California Tuesday night and while we were driving, both of us, at the same time, started feeling really really weird. Like a cloudy head..I don't know how to explain it..and then we saw a falling star right before our eyes! Eerie...It was like a spell was cast!! So anyway, we slept that night and then saw Cat Power in LA, which was amazing! Then drove home Wednesday night and got back to Vegas at 4am...oh boy....but we were successful at staying awake. The last 45 minutes were rough but we sang, screamed, stuck head out of the window... to stay awake. You know...the normal things you do to stay awake.

Now it's a stormy Friday the 13th and we are going to celebrate it by having spooky treats and watching a scary movie. Perhaps even paint faces. FUN!

The week isn't over yet...I know it's not that crazy...but it is a little. Admit it. I wonder what's in store for me tomorrow. Wait, I'm working. After work....there will be something in store!

The other day I was organizing and cleaning out all of my music. I was mainly burning cds to put in my computer. There were quite a few doozies but I was so pleased to have come across this...It's been soo long since I've listened to her. Loving it.

Sundance

The weekend update ....

Drove to Utah at 10pm with TM....but not even being tired...just chatting soo much and singing
Drove to Park City and found a free parking spot whoo!!
Went to Becca's film...so proud of her it was awesome!
Saw a some friends/family
Got the truck stuck in the snow at 2am..while it was snowing...took about an hour to shovel out....great story!
Slept at a fancy cabin
Spent a day in Park City
Played games and laughed a lot
Got snowed in the cabin
7 hour drive home because of unfortunate weather conditions...but don't worry we played name that tune for hours and other games....

SUCCESS!

Anticipation

This weekend I am going to Park City's Sundance Film Festival. I am so excited! One of my best and most talented friend ever had her short film accepted into the festival. This girl is back in action

So I have just really busy with you know..things....and I have really neglected the bloggerworld. Please forgive. There's a little snipet of my life the past few months. I hope that wasn't too much Diana...eehhh...but it HAS been quite awhile right? Anyway, in between those days I've been working at the salon and having some real responsibilities I promise...but mainly feeling fresh for a new year. What can I say... I'm loving it. I love my family and I love my friends!!!!!! (yeah I mean every single one of those explination points)

Words of Wisdom

So as I was walking into the sauna at the gym yesterday I spotted my favorite gym buddy. Who is it you ask??

I don't know her name, but I do know she is an 80 year old woman....short curly white hair...New York accent....attitude. We talk everytime we are there.

She is so great...has an opinion about everything and gives the weird people strange looks....so they can see.

Anyway, I was asking her about living in New York and asked about some things if I were to ever move there or anything. So she said a few things about the people and where to live.

And then she says..."You know...only 2 things I can tell you. 1. Be nosy 2. Ask questions. That's the only way to learn anything."

I thought that was great. Especailly in a New York accent, she went on to say how everyone knows everyone's business but it's just the way they live there.

Oh granny....you always have great things to say!

There was a point in my life where I was obsessed with photobooth on my computer. I don't remember the last time I took a pic on it...but I was looking at them the other day and there were some goodies....like so rediculous...but here...for your entertainment....

ODD AND OCD

Tell 6 unspectacular quirks about myself and then tag six fellow bloggers.

1) I hate using cold water on my toothbrush to brush my teeth.

2) When I am sitting and not fully concentrating, I will write the words inconspiqueseley (sound it out...!) ..with my finger in the air of what the person is saying....sometimes during movies too...

3) I do my very best at any project when I procrastinate..ooops...

4) When I am in the sauna at the gym I count to 100 two times...so 200..but I start at 1 when I'm really at 101...and then I get out...unless I am chatting with people....

5) When I'm driving long distances I act like I'm jumping over the white dashes in the road and also the poles on the sides of the road...it keeps me awake...

6) I always have to have the last word...uh huh...ok..ok...see you later...ok....have a good night...ok..you too...bye...bye....bye...click

A Night At The Theater...

Last night I went to the FALL ONE ACT PLAY FESTIVAL at UNLV with my friend Brooke. A friend of Brooke's wrote one of the one acts..and so we were able to get in free and enjoy the show.


So things start of smoothly...Brooke picks me up..we get to UNLV about a half hour early to get our tickets..get a nice seat in the front and middle..(mind you it's a really little theater..) ... and we enjoy the first act, titled, REPLICA. Now there were three acts and the only intermission we had was after the first act. So the first act gets over...and about 13 minutes in intermission, I decide I need to run to the restroom. So I kindly excuse myself and jet to the b-room. As I'm rushing to take care of business, I notice the girl... (I'm guessing a student).. who took tickets, closed the double doors into the theater...



...I take care of business then I rush to get back into the theater...and I go to open the first set of doors and L O C K E D ! ! ! ! ! So I'm thinking...this is ok...I will try the other set of double doors....I go to open them and L O C K E D !!!!!!



NOOOO!!!!!!

SO HERE I AM. BY MYSELF. LIKE A PUPPY IN THE POUND. LET ME INTO THE THEATER!!!! I'm knocking on the doors so loud and so much....



I had left my purse and cell phone at my seat inside the theater...and now...alone. All I have around me is a water fountain, old red UNLV dirty seats, and walls of plaques, framed newspaper cutouts, and the lights dimmed.

crap.

So my only option at the time was to read all the newpaper cutouts on the wall to pass the time. I was so annoyed. So I found myself reading a story of a dance teacher who used to be a showgirl. Hmm...interesting...then I proceed to read things I was only pretending to be interested in...to pass the time....I had at least an hour to kill.

Poor Brooke, she probably had no clue where I was...

A light bulb went off....



THERE MUST BE A WAY IN.

So...the mischevious side kicked in and I went on a hunt to find my way in. Not to mention I found a ticket on the ground, so I snatched it so just in case someone HAPPENED to open the doors, I would have a ticket to prove I had already been in.

I started to walk around...I found a door that said "AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL ONLY" ... what did I have to loose...so I opened it and it happened to be the doors to the stage...A ha! but I couldn't just waltz in!!!

So...I see some stairs...and...an open door! I pondered for a moment if I should open the door...what did I have to loose?..so I try to open the door and...it wasn't LOCKED...but what if people were in there?? What do I have to loose? So...I OPEN the door!!! And it was like the heavens OPENED!!! It was the mezzanine!!!! But...not just any mezzanine...it had no seats, just old lights and junk....but I could see the play!!!!



So there I was. Watching ME AND MY MAN-FISH. So happy. I saw Brooke, and the empty seat next to her, below me and was tempted to call her up, but I didn't want to disturb the play...so I sat, I mean stood, and watched the play from the BALCONY SEAT!! The second act finishes up.

But it's not over YET.

There was still the third act....and I wanted to go sit by Brooke.

I run downstaris and look at the "AUTHORIZED PERSONEL ONLY" door.


I had to do it. It was the only way.

I open it. I can hear people talking on stage.

AHHH there was a girl in there and she looked at me like I was crazy.

Me: "The doors are locked. Is there another way to get in?"

Girl: "Uhh...I don't think so. Did you try both sets of doors?"

Me: "Yeah, I tried everything"

Girl: ::hesitiating::

Me: "Can I just come in this way?"

Girl: "Well this goes out onto the stage"

Me: ::hands up like...I don't care...I want to get in:: (short for....::shrug::)

Girl: "Ok! Come through this way...just hurry!"

So there I was..peering onto the stage....then made a MAD DASH across the stage...

...down the stairs....and up some more stairs...crossed a few people in their seats....AND BACK TO MY SEAT!!!

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!!

I then watched the third act in peace, with Brooke, until the end.

Phew....what... A... Night At The Theater!!
